Gretel

Piano, Voice, Production, Theory

Gretel is a versatile composer, engineer, arranger/orchestrator, and director from Mexico, with over six years of experience crafting compelling compositions for audiovisual media. Holding a degree in Music from the Universidad de las Américas Puebla and additional training in music production and engineering, she has demonstrated her proficiency across various musical domains.

 

Currently, she is working as an assistant engineer at Canterbury Music Company in Toronto, recording artists with JUNO and GRAMMY awards such as Larnell Lewis (Snarky Puppy), JP Saxe, Alex Bird, Steven Page (Barenaked Ladies), Londa Larmond, Lorenz Guggenheim, Laila Biali, among others.

 

Gretel's journey led her to the prestigious Music Industry Arts program in London, Ontario, where she garnered recognition for her talents, winning the Jan Greene Award and being nominated for Best Engineer and Best Audio in Video. Notably, Gretel ventured into international commercial music in 2023 with a project for "Jayco RV," showcasing her adaptability and creativity. In 2022,

 

Gretel's career highlights include the premiere of her inaugural choral and piano compositions, as well as her debut play music for "Callback." Her skill in orchestration and conducting has been showcased across Canada with both choral and instrumental ensembles. In 2024, she expanded her artistic scope by conducting a rock/orchestral arrangement at London Music Hall. Gretel's collaborations with filmmakers and producers have also gained recognition, earning her a nomination for the "Audience Favorite" award at the 48-Hour Film Festival in 2022.

 

With her unwavering dedication and passion for storytelling through music, Gretel Milla Raffoul continues to fortify her status as an emerging artist in the music and audiovisual domain.
