His musical journey has taken him across the UK, Europe, and North America, where he has showcased his talents in various live performances spanning diverse musical genres. As a seasoned session musician, Roey has lent his skills to numerous collaborations and recordings, enriching the works of artists across different styles.
His musical prowess is rooted in a solid educational foundation. At Vancouver Community College (VCC), Roey honed his craft in performance, composition, jazz theory, and world music, earning multiple scholarships for his exceptional abilities. Under the mentorship of acclaimed musicians like Gordon Grdina and Ken Friedman, he further refined his skills, delving into jazz, blues, country rock, and pop styles on guitar and bass.
Roey's contributions to the music industry extend beyond performance. His compositions have graced the soundtracks of films and television shows, earning recognition from platforms like CBC. Additionally, his expertise has been acknowledged by institutions like the Canada Council, where he served as a Jury Member.
With over 15 years of teaching experience, Roey is dedicated to nurturing the musical talents of his students.
